The new Revolut offer uses the banking license that the company obtained in 2018 in Lithuania
Readers of cashless.pl inform that the first Revolut users receive proposals to convert their current accounts into bank accounts. The information sent to them shows that if a fintech customer decides to use the banking service, his/her money will be transferred to an account at Revolut Bank, where it will be protected under the deposit insurance system. Pursuant to European regulations, funds deposited into bank accounts are guaranteed up to the amount of 100,000. euro.

Revolut's press office, asking about the start of banking services in Poland, declines to comment. On the other hand, on the website of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) you can already find information that the British fintech has already submitted a will to expand its operations in Poland to include banking services.
Revolut obtained a full banking license at the end of 2018. However, it began offering its first banking services in Lithuania only in May 2020 to 300,000 local users of its applications. Fintech does not inform how many of them decided to take advantage of this offer.

As a result of Brexit, Revolut has also established Revolut UAB in Lithuania, which takes over customers from this part of Europe using the e-money license (electronic money institution) issued by the Bank of Lithuania. Migration is also to enable fintech to offer banking services in EU countries. It looks like it has just finished and Revolut is also launching its bank in Poland. Previously, fintech announced that it would offer new products to customers, such as loans, together with a bank account.
