A second bank from Poland offers loans based on open banking. After ING new opportunities in Alior

Even 26 million bank customers can apply for a loan at Alior Bank according to the new rules

Alior announced a new solution implemented on the basis of the PSD II directive. Clients of other banks can apply for a loan from it without having to submit a salary certificate. Account owners at PKO BP, Pekao, Santander and ING Bank Śląski can use this service. In total, they handle over 26 million individual accounts and the vast majority of Poles. Mateusz Poznański, Alior's vice president, ensures that in the coming weeks it is planned to expand the list with another bank.

Due to the solution using open banking, clients of the mentioned banks when applying for a loan in Alior can grant access to information about their account. Based on this data, your creditworthiness will be assessed. This means convenience and time saving. In practice, it looks like Alior will send an SMS to the client with a link to the form. The customer should confirm online that he has read the regulations and agree to access the information. You are redirected to your bank's website, where you must log in and approve the scope of account access. Alior can download your credit history and continue the loan process on its own.

The service of accessing payment account information (Account Information Service (AIS)) is currently offered in selected Alior branches and in the contact center. Soon it will go to the entire sales network and website. This should happen by the end of January 2020. The solution also benefits the bank itself - the automation of this process eliminates the work of an adviser who previously had to verify paper documents.
