A new and completely touch-free way to withdraw cash from ATMs

The solution using a mobile application and QR codes can be used by customers of the first cooperative banks

Novum, a company that provides software for, among others, cooperative banks, boasted about implementing a completely new process on the Polish market of withdrawing cash from ATMs. Thanks to the use of a mobile application and a QR code displayed on the ATM screen, cash can be withdrawn completely without having to touch the screen or keyboard of this device. Therefore, in addition to the fact that the transaction takes less time than using a card or Blik, it is to be safer from the point of view of the risk of coronavirus infection.

The new solution is available to customers of selected cooperative banks from the BPS and SGB groups at their own ATMs. To use it, you must use the Nasz Bank mobile application with the smartKARTA function. Novum declares that the new service is currently being implemented in 150 cooperative banks in the country. The first institution that implemented it was Bank Spółdzielczy from Łuków. The solution is to allow not only withdrawals, but also cash deposits directly to current accounts, with the booking time counted in minutes.

How does it work in practice? The transaction is defined in the mobile application, and the ATM screen is used only to confirm the transaction by scanning the QR code displayed on it with a smartphone. The operation is to be immediate, and the customer can collect the cash without any additional steps. In the Nasz Bank application, a description of the transaction and the history of operations are available. In the app, the client confirms the payment or deposit operation with mobile authorization.
