Alibaba is launching a network of parcel devices in Poland

The first device for receiving purchases from Aliexpress is tested in Warsaw

One of the readers of cashless.pl noticed an already working parcel machine belonging to the Chinese company Cainiao. It is a logistics company founded by the Alibaba Group, serving, inter alia, shipments of buyers on the Aliexpress platform. This is probably the first parcel device of this operator in Poland. It works on one of Warsaw's streets (we took the photo on Sunday morning).

Thus, Inpost parcel lockers have gained new competition on the Polish market. The fact that Alibaba intends to launch a network of parcel devices in Poland was reported a few months ago by the "Wiadomości Handlowe" service. Later this was confirmed by representatives of the Chinese company in Europe. He declared that the devices will be installed in the largest cities in the country and will play a complementary role to other delivery methods. The Chinese do not intend to end cooperation with Inpost, from which customers can already receive purchases ordered on Aliexpress.

However, this year Inpost will have another competition, because Allegro plans to launch its own network of parcel devices. In 2021, the company wants to have 1.5 thousand. machines and ultimately will be 3 thousand. Allegro has already chosen a partner for this project, the company Modern-Expo. You can read more about this in the text entitled "Allegro will set up its own parcel machines". It is also worth remembering that Poczta Polska also installs its own vending machines. For now, there will be about 200 of them.
