PZU to offer insurance to Uber and Bolt drivers

Thanks to the cooperation with Cachet, PZU will be able to offer drivers policies adapted to how often they drive for work

Estonian insurtech Cachet has started cooperation with PZU. Together, the companies intend to offer policies based on advanced risk profiles, reflecting the individual work schedules of drivers using platforms like Uber or Bolt.

Cachet is an insurtech that debuted in Poland earlier this year. It acquires and analyses data from a variety of sources so that users of its ride-hailing app can offer policies tailored to where and how often they drive for a living. It sells insurance via a mobile app and website.

Its first insurance partner in Poland was Allianz. In behind-the-scenes talks, however, one could hear that the cooperation did not go well. Now Cachet wants to strengthen its presence on the insurtech market thanks to the partnership with the largest Polish insurer. In September, Cachet was entered in the register of insurance intermediaries kept by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) as an agent of PZU.

Currently, insurtech offers third-party insurance for drivers who provide transport services via apps. However, Cachet declares that new products will soon appear, also for people who do not drive for a living. The company operates on the Estonian, Latvian and Polish markets. Cachet says that more than 80% of part-time drivers in Estonia have its policies.
